Sr. Network Engineer/VoIP - Chicago (AFS-2009-05-03)
Location: Chicago, IL Responsible for developing and maintaining a deep technical understanding of SARCOM’s current and future strategic networking technologies including:
· Identify and assist in developing new networking solution offerings as well as new partners where appropriate. · Interface and develop strong relationships with networking manufacturer partners. · Possess a wide and sophisticated understanding of the overall networking environment and vendors that PCMALL supports · Pursue and successfully maintain critical industry and product certifications associated with PCMALL’s selected network solutions · Act as a customer-facing technical consultant in strategic selling situations supporting PCMALL’s VP’s, DVP’s and Account Managers. · Develop internal training materials on PCMALL’s networking solutions, in conjunction with other members of the Networking and Security Solutions team. · Conduct and/or assist with internal training for PCMALL sales, engineering and service delivery associates. · Develop, maintain and contribute expert technical content regarding networking technologies for presentations, proposals, Statements of Work (SOW) and responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP). · Develop and maintain competitive and comparative matrices of PCMALL’s selected networking solutions against competitive technologies, methodologies and approaches. · Design, Build and Support the “Network Lab” that supports our Network Certifications as well as network testing that supports out Networking Engineers.
· This position typically requires a minimum of 5 years hands-on technical experience, primarily in, but not limited to, the networking and security environment. · Strong communication skills, including writing and presenting to groups. · Proficiency in office productivity software and email is required. · The ability to effectively coordinate with others in a team environment to achieve a common goal. This includes the ability to push projects or action items forward and to effectively motivate others in a respectful and positive manner as well as push the sales organization in a direction that is beneficial to PCMALL. · Advanced skills in any of the following Microsoft Office applications is strongly desired: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint · An Associates or Bachelors Degree in a related field of study is considered a plus. · Pertinent and current technical certifications considered a plus. CCIE is required. Customer-facing sales or consulting experience a plus. This position typically requires 50% travel.
