Job Summary: P&A Database Administration services are being requested to work with both Application teams and the client groups to manage the databases under client responsibility. The resources on this service should be trained, certified (Oracle Certified Professional), and minimum 10 years experience as an Oracle DBA and have accumulated greater than 4 years experience with Oracle version 10g and greater. Candidates should have specific Oracle database performance & SQL tuning knowledge on how to quickly troubleshoot problems, identify root cause of issues and provide corrective action solutions that include planning of implementation.
Required Qualifications: Trained, certified (Oracle Certified Professional), and Experienced in Oracle Database Administration and performance related processes and tools. • Familiarity with multi-tier Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11g database environments including strong exposure to Solaris and proficiency in SQL and Unix shell scripting Oracle Cost Based Optimizer, SQL tuning, PL/SQL, table and index partitioning, parallelism, materialized views, etc… • Thorough understanding of Oracle database data dictionary, database optimizers, use of indexes, use of hints, and SQL statement tuning. • Knowledge of relevant deployed software (Oracle Enterprise Manager, Precise i3, Statspack, SQL scripts, etc…) and be able to interpret performance metadata/metrics and make sound tactical recommendations.
